T-Mobile Takes On The iPhone 4 And AT&T In A New Ad - Stays Classy

November 3, 2010
It's a common practice for US carriers to bash each other with competing TV ads. Most of the time, these ads are very poor and just take cheap shots at the competition. T-Mobile is no stranger to this practice, and this week has begun airing a brand new advertisement for their My Touch 4G. The ad is targeted against AT&T, the iPhone 4 and FaceTime. This time around, they really nailed the message, while managing to stay classy. The ad itself is a parody of Apple's old "Buy A Mac" ads. It has a gorgeous young woman as the My Touch, and a young man carrying an older guy on his back. The younger guy is the iPhone 4, and the older guy on his back is AT&T. It's a great metaphor, and they have a good point. FaceTime should work anywhere. We'll be looking forward to AT&T's answer, and hope for some FaceTime over 3G in the near future as a result. In the meantime, check out the ad:
