Trucks and Skulls is a brand new physics based puzzler that has the Crush The Castle, Angry Birds style, but with a lot more bad ass elements. We reviewed the iPad version on Thursday when it was released, noting that the iPhone version was still held up with Apple. The iPad version is the iPad game of the week, and has launched up the iPad paid charts to the #2 selling. Thankfully Trucks And Skulls for iPhone was just approved and released, so anyone who saw the iPad version, and wanted to try it, but lacked an iPad, now can.
The iPad version and iPhone version are practically identical except for the level editor in the iPad version. Therefore our review applies to both titles, so be sure to check it out if you're unsure, or want some more info on the game. If you're a fan of Angry Birds you owe it to yourself to check this one out, because it's similar, but has many little things that make it tons of fun in it's own right.
You launch trucks like birds, and you try to destroy skulls like pigs, with multiple types of trucks to get the job done. The game has tons more explosions, and rather than just trying to destroy the skulls, you want to destroy every single block in a level because there is a nice bonus for doing so. There is lava as well plus later levels introduce Mr. Meltdown which obliterates everything on screen with one blast.
The game has 128 levels, and an update has already been submitted with 15 more levels. Once you start, it will be tough to put back down as you face all kinds of variability including many levels requiring very precise shots through tight squeezes of indestructible blocks. Also if you want you can try to top my score from the iPad version seen below.
