Ustream users will be happy to see a big update to the broadcaster app has just arrived. Ustream Live Broadcaster 2.0 is now available. The new features include: iPod touch support, full screen broadcasting with a redesigned layout, more sharing functionality, better social interaction, on the fly front/back camera switching, and iOS 4 compatibility fixes. The update also replaces the old black icon with a fresh blue icon.
One great thing about this update is iPod touch support. Prior to this update fourth generation iPod touch users were told their devices did not have a camera. The new app also allows iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4 users to switch between the front and back cameras during a broadcast. The built-in camera app forces users to decide which camera to use before recording.
Oddly, this feature is only available for live broadcasts. For recordings done directly to the device you must decide ahead of time which camera you'd like to use.
Ustream Live Broadcaster is a free application available in the App Store now.
