Beyond Ynth Gets A New Rewind Feature, Game Center Integration, And More
November 22, 2010
FDG's Beyond Ynth has to be one of the more entertaining and challenging puzzle/platformers to hit the App Store in recent memory, but the game isn't without its faults. It can be insanely difficult at times, and its difficulty coupled with the lack of checkpoints can cause mass amounts of frustration and the desire to chuck your iDevice across the room. But FDG recently came to the rescue with a new feature included in the latest update to Beyond Ynth, allowing players to rewind instead of having to start over. It also now features Game Center integration, along with quite a few other small improvements.
In Beyond Ynth v1.1, you can now avoid Kribl's painful demise at any time by tapping the rewind button in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. About to fall into some lava? No problem, tap the rewind button. Tipped over too many boxes and have no way out? Psh, easy, just tap the rewind button. If you are the competitive type, however, you may want to avoid that oh-so-desirable button altogether since the moment you tap it your score for the current level is reset to zero.
Beyond Ynth also now features Game Center integration for both versions of the game, so if you have just updated your iPad to iOS 4.2, you can try to earn the 40 included achievements just like your iPhone toting friends. The game features two separate leaderboards as well, best score and most diamonds collected, so you can see just how your skills compare with the rest of the world.
The latest version also includes quite a few fixes and tweaks to smooth out the gameplay.
Beyond Ynth for iPhone is priced at $3.99, while Beyond Ynth HD for iPad is priced at $5.99. Check out our review of Beyond Ynth v1.0 to learn a little bit more about this unique puzzle/platformer, just remember to take into account the new rewind feature before making a decision.
