GPS navigation apps have been a wonderful way to navigate using an iPhone. Currently the iPad 3G is the only model of the iPad to have a GPS chip. The GPS chip inside the 3G iPad is simply fantastic. The tracking on the chip is very fast and accurate. Many will simply use their iPhone apps by TomTom or Navigon in the 2x mode on the iPad. But, there are some nice benefits from using an iPad native app.
The selection is very limited right now. It is odd that neither TomTom or Navigon have created an iPad version yet. The upscaled TomTom app works quite nice on the iPad. The app is smart enough to rotate into landscape, but a native app still would be a much better experience. This guide will help you choose the best iPad native GPS navigation app for you.
