Apple Pulls Quick Snap – Camera Plus App
December 29, 2010
It’s gone.
Just a day after we profiled the Quick Snap – Camera Plus app, Apple has pulled it. Created by GoodCode, the app allowed users to take photos using the iPhone’s volume button.
App developers are not allowed to change hardware features, and doing so violates Apple’s iPhone Developer Program License Agreement.
Our original article created quite a stir among our readers.
Some felt we shouldn’t have mentioned the app’s obvious violation of Apple’s agreement. Others downloaded the app based solely on our article, and found it did not perform as expected.
Many wanted their money back.
We did not specifically address the app’s pros or cons. In fact, no “review” was offered. We simply stated the app shouldn't have been approved in the first place.
Now, the app has been removed from the App Store.
