Flipboard Gets More Social

Just weeks after its last significant update, the folks at Flipboard Inc. are at it again. The Flipboard for iPad app now includes Google Reader and Flickr support among other goodies. The new update includes:

• The ability to read your Google Reader feeds, folders and friends’ shared items
• Full Flickr support, including adding photostreams, favorites, groups, you contacts’ photos and interesting photos of the day
• Easily navigate among Facebook groups, fan pages, friends’ photos or friends lists

Most significantly, Flipboard has eliminated its “read on web” button. The app now automatically loads your article's original web page, RSS feed or Flipboard Page. This saves readers quite a bit of time searching between articles. Here is the video:

Flipboard, Apple's "iPad App Of The Year" is available for free in the App Store.
