Infographic: The State Of The App Store 2010

With about 300,000 apps, it's amazing how much the App Store has grown over the last two and a half years. We're still at a very early stage of development, and every day brings a lot of new apps to surprise us. It's always interesting to take a look at how the landscape is shaping up, and what kind of apps are popular, or how they are priced.
To help us get a quick overview of what's going on, appoftheday.com pulled together some basic App Store stats, and merged them into a very informative infographic. For example, you'll be surprised to discover that as much as a third of the available apps are now going for free, and that an App Store book costs on average five times as much as a game. Apps for the iPad are also going strong as they already represent 15 percent of the available apps, if you combine iPad only and universal ones.
