December 4, 2010
Today's AGF list includes an accurate level that utilizes your iPhone's built-in gyroscope, an entertaining app that allows you to place thought bubbles over your unsuspecting friends, a casual game by NimbleBit, and much more. Disclaimer: All prices are subject to change at any time and without notice regardless of stated free duration. iPhone: National Geographic: Herod's Lost Tomb ($.99 -> Free): A hidden object game that allows you to explore the ancient world and help researchers solve the mystery of Herod's Lost Tomb.  The game features two modes, tons of different locations to explore, and mini-games. National Geographic: Herod's Lost Tomb is available for free today only (12/4). It has a three-and-a-half-star rating and a total of 1,177 ratings. Bluebird ($.99 -> Free): A simple casual game by NimbleBit that has you controlling a little blue bird on a mission to fly as far as he possibly can.  Tapping on either side of the screen will make the little bird flap in that direction, but each and every tap takes a little bit of energy away.  You must eat bugs to keep your energy supply up while avoiding other birds and storm clouds. Bluebird is available for free for a limited time. It has a three-star rating and a total of 775 ratings. DragonEye ($.99 -> Free): Basically a game of Simon Says that features two game modes, three difficulty levels, stat tracking, and Agon Online integration. DragonEye is available for free today only (12/4). It has a four-star rating and a total of eight ratings. Perplex ($.99 -> Free): A memory game where your only goal is to choose the correct red button to advance to the next stage.  If you choose the wrong red button, you will be brought back to the beginning. Perplex is available for free today only (12/4). It has a four-and-a-half-star rating and a total of nine ratings. Gyroscope Surface Level ($.99 -> Free): An accurate level that can be used for any project.  Since it uses your iDevice's internal gyroscope along with other sensors, it will never need calibration.  It features a bubble indicator as well as horizontal and vertical measurements.  This app can only be used on an iPhone 4 or fourth-gen iPod touch. Gyroscope Surface Level is available for free for a limited time. It has a four-and-a-half-star rating and a total of eight ratings. ARGirl ($.99 -> Free): A quirky app that allows you to have one of three 3D girls dance to your music.  You must first create a physical marker so the app knows where to place the model, and you can do so just by following the instructions included in the app. ARGirl is available for free for a limited time. It has a four-star rating and a total of seven ratings. *We also recommend checking out Make Me Happy today even though it doesn't have an average rating.  It was created by Blacksmith Games, the team responsible for the Appvent Calendar. Universal: StickWars ($.99 -> Free): A stick figure castle defense game that features multi-touch controls.  Grab, flick, and throw the opposing forces to keep them away from your wall.  You earn cash after each round that can be spent on fortifying your wall or deploying troops.  The game features unlimited rounds, multiple modes of play, and OpenFeint integration.
