Join Guybrush Threepwood On His New Adventure In Monkey Island Tales 1 HD For iPad
December 15, 2010
Telltale has gotten out ahead of the App Store game rush that usually takes place every Thursday by releasing their new graphic adventure game for iPad, Monkey Island Tales 1 HD, a day earlier than the competition.
Monkey Island Tales 1 HD is the first of a five-part series that follows the misadventures of the one and only Guybrush Threepwood as he embarks on a quest to find an artifact that's able to stop a menacing plague, which Threepwood himself accidentally released, from infecting the Caribbean's inhabitants.
As with all of Telltale's graphic adventures, Monkey Island Tales 1 HD features high quality 3D graphics and puzzles that require the use of environmental elements and dialog choices.
If the title of the game sounds somewhat familiar, don't worry, you're not going crazy. Telltale actually released Tales of Monkey Island, the series this iPad version is based off of, over a year ago on a variety of other platforms.
Monkey Island Tales 1 HD, or Launch of the Screaming Narwhal as the first episode is titled, is available in the App Store for $6.99. The price may seem a little high for an iPad game, but it is actually right on par with the desktop version.
Telltale has indicated that parts two through five will be made available throughout next year, but we'll just have to wait and see about that.
