PhotoPal ($0.99) by MacPhun LLC is a great photo editing app for the iPad. The folks that brought you Perfect Photo for iPhone have created PhotoPal to do much the same thing on the iPad. And, PhotoPal is on sale, 75% off, this week only, to celebrate their newest update.
PhotoPal will cover your photo editing needs. Grab a photo from your photo library and start tweaking! Tap the lightbulb/color palette icon to adjust the lighting and color in so many different ways: Brightness and Contrast, Color Balance, Color Temperature, Exposure, Gamma, Highlights, Hue Saturation, Shadows, and more. You can also Sharpen and Denoise your photos, which are really premium features. For my “after” shot above, I made just subtle changes in brightness and contrast, as well as sharpening it a bit.
Tap the scissors icon to Flip/Rotate, Crop, Align, and Resize your photos. Additionally, you can correct Red Eye and get rid of blemishes with Spot Healing. These are great features not found in many photo editing apps. In fact, I used the Spot Healing feature to get rid of some unsightly spots on the floor!
For special effects, tap the FX star icon. Choose from Bloom (bright and dreamy), Black & White, Invert, Posterize, Pencil Paint (the effect I used in the lead photo), Vintage, Frames, or Vignette.
Apply as many fixes and effects as you like, then tap Save. Here you have the option to save the photo to your Photo Library, PhotoPal Docs, or your Clipboard. Tap Share to share your creation via email, Flickr, Facebook, or Twitter.
