Forget The 2, Stick Golf's Sequel Is Simply Super - Plus A Chance To Win A Copy
December 10, 2010
Being the quirky developers that they are, Noodlecake Games chose to forgo the usual naming scheme for the sequel to their smash hit golfing game, Stick Golf. Instead of simply slapping a 2 on the end, they decided to spice it up a bit by adding the word 'Super' to the beginning. If you think about it, the use of super is actually warranted, as Super Stick Golf easily surpasses the original in terms of level design and gameplay.
To celebrate its launch, Noodlecake has provided us with three promo codes to give away to you fine folks, but first a little about the game.
It's best to think of Super Stick Golf as a physics-based puzzle game with a golf mechanic thrown in. Each hole is designed to make you think before you tee off, as there are sand traps, water hazards, giant holes, conveyor belts, and even small passages that allow you to skip through portions of the hole as long as you have the skills to do so. Little bonuses are spread across some of the holes as well, helping you keep your score below par.
That's not to say the game is a cake walk. A bad tee shot here or a bad chip there will have your score climbing to new, unenviable heights. To help you through these difficult times are six unlockable power-ups, including sticky balls, air brakes, and even mulligans. You only get a limited number of power-ups, however, so you must choose the ones you think will give you the biggest advantage.
The game includes a total of 216 holes, including all of the courses from the original game, Retina graphics, realistic ball physics, Game Center integration, and an 8-bit chiptune soundtrack created by Whitaker Blackall. Additional courses and online multiplayer are said to be coming via future updates, further adding to the replayability of the game.
Super Stick Golf is now available for the introductory price of $.99.
