ESPN ScoreCenter Update Makes Following Your Favorite Sports And Teams Even Easier
January 4, 2011
ESPN ScoreCenter, the widely popular and completely free sports tracking app for iPhone and iPod touch, has just been updated to version 2.0, and with it comes a handful of new features that will make following your favorite sports and teams even easier.
First on the list of new, and by far the most important, is the ability to quickly view news and standings for tons of different leagues, conferences, divisions, and tours along with aggregated local news coverage for your favorite teams. The two new categories can be revealed by tapping a small arrow in the heading of each of your sports cards. The news section also now features exclusive video coverage of the biggest breaking stories in sports.
If you follow a lot of sports, navigating to and from each one used to be a arduous task, but ESPN has remedied this constant swiping issue by allowing you to simply drag your finger across the dots below the cards. Doing so will bring up a pop-up menu, clearing displaying which card contains which sport. Just release your finger when you have found the one you want and the card will be revealed.
ESPN ScoreCenter v2.0 also now includes scoring alerts for all major soccer leagues, as well as a Retina-friendly icon.
You can download the latest version of ESPN ScoreCenter immediately in the App Store free of charge.
