Video: Verizon iPhone Hands On - Hotspot Feature & More
January 11, 2011
More information on the Verizon iPhone is coming to light following its introduction. Our friends at Geek.com had the opportunity to play around with the new device and have posted a video. Plus, we’ve got more information about the mobile hotspot feature.
Here is the video:
Sure, the device looks amazing. It is an iPhone 4! From a hardware perspective there's not much that separates it from the existing AT&T model. Meanwhile, TechCrunch has included some information on the new personal hotspot feature. Depending on your situation, this could be a hugh reason to switch to Verizon. This assumes AT&T will not offer the same feature, which we don't know yet. It allows an iPhone to serve as an Internet hub for up to five Wi-Fi devices to connect to. The feature is located under the iPhone's Settings app using iOS 4.2.4. You can turn it "on" and set a password if you choose to set it up for Wi-Fi use.
However, you don't have to use Wi-Fi. Bluetooth and USB are also available for one-to-one connections. The process looks pretty easy, but the feature will cost extra. At this time neither Apple nor Verizon would specify pricing. What do you think? Leave your comments below.
