Instant Heart Rate Gets An Update - Plus, Win A Promo Code!
January 18, 2011
Instant Heart Rate is a real heart rate monitor, not one of the joke or trick apps that abound in the app store. It works on the same principle as a medical pulse oximeter that is used in hospitals. Simply place your finger on the camera lens and get your heart rate in about 10 seconds. Check out our review for more details.
In my review I mentioned that I wished there was a beep to let you know when your heart rate has been read, so you know when you’re supposed to remove your finger. Well, in the recent update, the developers added a beep! In addition, they created a whole new user interface and icon, which is quite attractive. Now with this update, you can also export your history. They have added a rotation lock as well. It works best on the iPhone 4, but it can be used on an iPhone 3GS if you are in a very well-lit area. It does not, at this time, work on the iPod Touch.
There is also a free, ad-supported version of this app with not quite as many features. It is most definitely worth downloading the free version before buying (or entering to win) the paid version, so you’ll know if you like the way this app works.
One lucky winner gets a promo code for the full version, so if you would like a chance to win, simply comment below. Contest ends January 19 at 1:00 p.m. EST. Good luck!
