Sure there are several successful Karaoke apps in the App Store, but they all have some major limitations. The wildly popular I Am T-Pain app features only T-Pain songs, for example. And games like Rock Band Reload don't allow for simple Karaoke or performance recording. iOKi® Karaoke is trying to move iPhone Karaoke to the next level.
iOKi® Karaoke comes with two modes, one for classic Karaoke and one for Rock Band-style, pitch-matching game play. The app has a large library of popular tracks available for download and advertises 2000 more coming in a future update.
The app also features several special effects for users to add a little bit of originality to their performance, including an auto-tune, as well as a significant amount of social integration to let you share your songs with friends over Twitter, Youtube, Facebook, and iOKi's own user community.
iOKi® Karaoke is free to download and includes two songs, Coldplay's Viva La Vida and Madonna's Crazy For You. Additional downloads set you back $1.99 per track.
Obviously the steep price tag on downloadable content might be a strong deterrent for many users, but if cost isn't an issue for you, or you want to check out the free tracks, go for it and let us know your opinion in the comments.
