Plants Vs. Zombies For iPhone Updated With Game Center Support, Nothing More
January 18, 2011
After recently witnessing Plants vs. Zombies HD get updated with Game Center support, we just knew it was inevitable for the iPhone version to receive the same treatment, but we were holding out hope for a little something more like, maybe, Retina display support or even a new game mode. I mean, it makes sense, right? It has been about six months since Plants vs. Zombies for iPhone was updated in any sort of fashion. Apparently PopCap didn't see it our way, as this update is limited to adding Game Center achievements, but hey, there's always next time.
So let's just forget about all that negative stuff for now and try to focus on the good stuff. Plants vs. Zombies now includes 25 Game Center achievements to try and obtain. Some of them are pretty basic and should only take a few moments to nab, while others, like the Second Life achievement, which requires you to beat Adventure mode a second time, will have you sitting in front of your iPhone or iPod touch for hours. If you are able to obtain every last one of those 25 achievements, you will be able to increase your Game Center achievement point total by 375.
Plants vs. Zombies v1.4 is now available in the App Store for $2.99. If you still haven't played the game for some reason, don't let our disappointment with the latest update drive you away. It's actually a lot of fun. Check out our in-depth review here.
