QuickAdvice: The Pink Bunnies Need Your Help To Survive!
Cannibal Bunnies ($3.99) by Creative Drops Studios is a new game to hit the app store. The concept is simple, you must help save as many bunnies as possible. You must capture healthy bunnies within a set time limit. Seems simple, but you must also keep your bunnies safe from all sorts of evil. You will encounter anything from evil bunnies that eat the ones you must rescue, to poisonous carrots that make your bunnies sick.
The game is introduced with a short film that sets the storyline. The main objective of the game is to catch the set number of bunnies you are given. The first few levels are relatively simple. You encounter different types of obstacles, but you can work around all of them. To capture the bunnies you tap on them and they are lifted into the air.
Once you tap on a bunny, it appears as if an invisible force is choking the bunny as it is being held in midair. A similar view is shown in the introduction video, I do think this is what the developers were going for. Once you have your bunny floating in the air you can fling him into a cage. Nowhere in the game does it specifically tell you how to put them in the cage, but the diagrams suggest simply dragging and dropping over the cage. I learned from trial and error, on a few of the more difficult levels; when you are crunched for time, you can fling the bunnies into their cage.
Aside from flinging bunnies into cages within the time limit, there are other challenging features. The bunnies have a tendency to walk off cliffs if you're not careful, and there is always the threat of an evil bunny lurking nearby trying to eat yours. These additional challenges prove to be interesting, and fun obstacles throughout the game.
Currently, there is no option to change the level of difficulty. But, an update is coming to address that issue. Even though the concept is simple, the game is surprisingly difficult. Fulfilling the quota of saved bunnies is tough, but attainable, if you retry the levels enough times.
Overall, this game is a fresh addition to the app store. It has very catchy background music, and superb graphics. The gameplay flows very smoothly, and is entertaining. I would recommend it for any iPad users looking for a clever and fun game.
