Rumor: Safari And iTunes Will Become One

January 17, 2011
Windows users know the drill; they download iTunes and Apple encourages them to also download its web browser, Safari. Most do not, which means the browser’s use is largely limited to Mac users. In December, Safari had just 4.46 percent of the overall browser market. However, Safari could go from minor player to market leader very soon. According to a rumor reported by Three Guys and a Podcast, the Cupertino, California-based company will merge iTunes and Safari into one application as early as this fall. By creating one application, Apple will require that everyone use Safari to access iTunes. Three Guys said:
"Moving iTunes organizational side-bar into Safari isn't a monumental task" claimed a source, adding "Safari would skyrocket in use as a result of integrating the software titles together."
