With New Verizon iPhone Comes iOS Update
January 11, 2011
When the Verizon iPhone arrives on February 10, 2011, it will include a new version of iOS. While we don't know what iOS 4.2.5 actually includes, we've got some guesses.
For one, the update could simply be what is required for the Verizon iPhone to actually work on the CDMA network. No brainer on this point.
In addition, it could be the update necessary to bring mobile hotspots to AT&T iPhones as well. This would be very cool, but is unconfirmed at this point.
Also possible, the update could include all of the above plus an "iTunes app subscriptions" system which is expected to be released soon along with Rupert Murdoch's iPad app "The Daily."
We really don't know what iOS 4.2.5 will include, except that it will come on each shiny new Verizon iPhone. Stay tuned.
