AppAdvice Comments Now Powered By Disqus - Trolls Be Warned
February 22, 2011
Many of our readers have complained about our, let's admit it, poor commenting system, especially after we provided you with a great place to bring us your suggestions over at UserVoice.
Now, we're happy to announce that your wishes have been fulfilled. We've implemented Disqus as our commenting system, and as you'll soon discover, it will make comments on AppAdvice better than ever before.
In case you're not familiar with Disqus, here is what this means to you. First of all, you won't have to fill in a form every time you post a comment. You can still comment as a guest (given that you have a valid e-mail address), but you'll also be able to simply use your Disqus, Twitter, Facebook, and many more accounts, right on the site. Best of all, the site will remember you so next time you'll just have to hit post. There are other advantages, like the ability to receive replies to your comments by e-mail and so on.
The most interesting new feature is that you can now "like" good comments and in this way promote them to being shown more prominently. Not to mention that you can also see all the comments on articles hapening outside our site (like on Twitter) and flag inappropriate behavior.
Last, but not least; this marks the end of a long streak for all the trolls and spammers out there that have been feasting beneath our posts. You will no longer be able to promote your male-enhancement drugs on the site, or help lonely men find the baltic woman of their dreams. You will also no longer be able to be disrespectful to other commenters.
