AT&T Doubles Tethering Allowance To 4GB Per Month

February 14, 2011
AT&T continues to offer new or improved features to keep its customers. Just one week after the debut of the Verizon iPhone, the second largest U.S. mobile carrier is increasing the data allowance for those using tethering. Effective immediately, AT&T has doubled its monthly tethering limit from 2GB to 4GB. The price remains $45 per month. Tethering allows users to share data between their iPhone and laptop or netbook.

For each additional 1GB a user is over the allowance, the company charges $10. This is the second enhancement being offered by AT&T in as many weeks. Late last week, they began offering unlimited mobile to mobile calling regardless of carrier.
