In Crystal Soul, you are the Crystal Champion of Crystennia and you must protect your kingdom from the evil monsters. To ensure no monster is left standing, you will have to travel to the far corners of your kingdom, which can only be accomplished by summoning the Crystal Gate.
The Crystal Gate can be activated by collecting a specific amount of energy from your defeated enemies. You can attack and defeat smaller enemies by simply moving your character onto their marker, but each move will cost you a single health point. Attacking groups of connected monsters will result in all of them being defeated at once, saving you precious health points and rewarding you with tons of Crystal Soul. Large boss monsters will also appear at random, which will actually move towards you and require a lot more finesse to defeat. Once you have accomplished all of the objectives for a given level, the Crystal Gate will open and you will have to make your way to and through it before running out of health points.
The game features three different character classes, each with their own skill sets. It also features four landscapes, a wide variety of monsters, two game modes, and Game Center integration.
Whether you are a fan of puzzle games or RPGs, Crystal Soul is sure to entertain. Its one of those few games that's able to mash genres together without becoming too complicated. It can easily be enjoyed in short spurts, or you can get lost in the colorful landscapes for hours.
