AppAdvice has once again teamed up with Operatio in order to offer you a chance to win one of 12 promo codes for the latest version of Curlington HD ($.99) for iPad.
Curlington HD is an arcade curling game that takes the stone-sliding sport to a whole new level with special stones, realistic physics, and intuitive gesture controls. To slide a stone in the game, you are simply required to swipe with a single finger, or with multiple fingers for more power, towards your target. The idea is to get your stone to stop sliding in the center of the target, and you can do so by employing a variety of special stones.
After a stone is released, you can swipe left or right to change the rotation of the stone, which will give it a slight curl. You can also sweep the ice to add just a little more speed to ensure you reach your target, but at the same time, it will allow for less curling. Your biggest advantage will be your choice of characters. Each one offers the ability to manipulate a stone in a unique way, like controlling it via tilt or making it stop on a dime. You can also use points obtained during the game to change the playing field by purchasing equipment from the store.
The game features a single player mode that allows you to take on a computer controlled player, or you can play with up to three other friends on the same device. The latest version allows you to choose between two different AI opponents to better suit your skill level. It also features 3D graphics, full stat tracking, two full-sized rinks, a bonus mini-game that takes place inside of a cargo aircraft, an in-depth tutorial, a training mode to help you hone your skills, and Game Center achievements and leaderboards.
If want a true curling experience instead of an arcade feel, you can now turn off the arcade gameplay in the main menu. It's the same game, just without all of the special stones, ramps, bumpers, etc. Operatio has also released a free ad-supported version of Curlington HD if you want to test out the gameplay for yourself.
