Google Launches New iOS App For The Shopping Savvy

February 2, 2011
Google continues to expand its presence on iOS with a new iPhone app to help the price-comparing shopping freak in you make more informed purchasing decisions. Their new app, called Google Shopper, allows users to look up all kinds of products by scanning their barcode, using image and voice recognition or simple text search. It provides the user with descriptions, reviews, and price comparisons for both nearby and online retailers. You can also share your love for any product on Facebook and Twitter from within the app. It's very convenient, as you can do very general searches, like Printer or iPod, and find the best reviewed products at the lowest price. Of course, there are many similar apps in this space, but Google's unique ability to find things, and their large retailer database gives it an advantage. Google Shopper for iPhone is available on the App Store now, free of charge.
