What do you get when you combine the depth of a game like Defender Chronicles: Legend of the Desert King with the wit and charm of Plants vs. Zombies? The answer is Legendary Wars, a fun and content-packed Castle Defense-RPG hybrid by Liv Games.
At its core, the concept of Legendary Wars will seem familiar to fans of Plants vs. Zombies. Monsters attacks from the right side of the screen and players purchase units and upgrades to battle them.
Unlike Plants vs. Zombies, Legendary Wars puts more emphasis on its campaign plot, which features a fun but lighthearted story line. Players also get far more control over their units on the battlefield, including the ability to shift units into different lanes and charge them forward. When between levels, players can stop by the armory to find a bucket load of upgrade options, allowing for a very customizable experience.
The app boasts over 50 levels spread across 5 graphically unique continents; more than 10 different endless modes and difficulty levels to unlock; beautiful multi-layered side-scrolling; tons of upgrades for each unit; and unique combat scenarios that mix elements of castle defense, castle siege, and side-scrollers.
If you felt Plants vs. Zombies was a bit too complex, Legendary Wars might be the wrong choice. That said, Legendary Wars is an excellent step for anyone who's a fan of Plants vs. Zombies (or any other tower defense for that matter) and ready to make the leap to a game with a bit more story and depth. You'll definitely get your money's worth content-wise.
