Opera Browser For The iPad Set For Release

February 17, 2011
Tired of using mobile Safari on the iPad? Looking for another way to browse the web on your iDevice? We’ve got big news for you. Opera is coming to the iPad, and we have the video to prove it:

Despite some functionality problems, which were corrected in later versions, Opera Mini has become a nice browser on the iPhone/iPod touch. Now the developers hope to do the same on Apple’s larger iDevice. Created by Opera Software ASA, the app has no announced release date as of yet. However, the folks at MacStories believe it could be released as early as next week. Opera will have some competition. In addition to Safari, the iPad browser market includes the Skyfire, Atomic, and Mercury web browsers among others.
