PAC-MAN Shows His Love For Valentine's Day With A New Theme

February 10, 2011
Holiday-inspired updates to popular iOS games seem to be all the rage these days, so it's really no wonder Namco slapped a hot red skin onto the iPhone game bearing the name of their iconic dot-chomper to celebrate Valentine's Day. The latest update to PAC-MAN for iPhone and iPod touch allows you to apply themes to the game. Currently there is only one theme -- Valentine's Day -- but judging from the description, this should open the door for a variety of other holiday-inspired themes to be added. Choosing the Valentine's Day theme not only changes the design of the menu system, but also changes the design of the cabinet box you play within and the outline color of the maze. Sure, it's nothing overly special, but it's completely free and it does offer a little extra eye-candy. The update also adds the ability to choose classic swipe controls instead of the new, more precise swipe controls since some people were having difficulties getting acclimated to them. Both the paid and free versions of PAC-MAN for iPhone and iPod touch include the new Valentine's Day theme, but unlike the paid version, the free lite version will only feature it temporarily. You can currently pick up PAC-MAN for the sale price of $1.99, along with a ton of other great games included in our sales list today.
