Albert HD ($1.99) by Fingerlab is a day in the life of Albert. It features 14 exciting mini-games and a lot more. Explore Albert’s world with holographic effects and HD graphics. Mini-games range from helping Albert pick out his favorite toast, to sorting his socks into pairs. The developer has handcrafted all the graphics using “1000 pieces of cardboard, sliced, glued, photographed and animated.” This is what makes the game stand out from others. The game uses all the functionality of your iDevice, whether you are playing the iPhone or the iPad version. Games involve anything from speaking into your microphone to tilting and rotating your device.

The main idea behind this game is to keep Albert company for an entire day. His day is full of chores; consisting of things like watering the plants to driving his car. Each mini-game isn’t just a silly chore though; the developers really took some time designing them and added clever obstacles to each one. For example, in the mini-game where you must move Albert around to catch water drops for his plant, you also have to avoid shears that will cut his plant; makes sense, right? All of the mini-games have simple objectives but are rich in graphics and animation.

Within every level of the game there is a hidden treasure, which is a random object hidden in the background. This is where the game's holographic function comes into use. While playing a level you must twist and turn your device to see behind things. Obviously none of our devices are 3D (yet?), but you will see behind multiple layers when looking from the side. Behind these multiple layers lay the hidden treasures. Collecting 15 of them throughout the game will unlock an additional feature, so don’t forget to find them.

Overall Albert HD for the iPad and Albert for the iPhone are excellent. They have a simple, comedic story line about an average person doing daily chores, and it's filled with exciting mini games of different types. Your whole family is sure to enjoy this one, whether you're catching rain drops or avoiding traffic, Albert is a must have.
