QuickAdvice: Image Blender Lets You Easily Combine Photos Into One
Image Blender ($1.99) by Johan Andersson is an app to help you merge and blend images together.
With all of the camera and photography apps out there available for the iPhone, have you ever wondered what would happen if you combined two of your photos together? What would the effect be? What would it look like? Well, wonder no more, because Image Blender is here to help!
Image Blender has a simple but intuitive interface. When you launch the app, you'll get a pretty bare screen. But along the bottom, you'll notice two squares on both sides of a slider. Tap on these squares and you'll be prompted to bring in a new image from your photo library or take a new picture
Once you get your two images, you can adjust the slider in the middle to adjust how strong the presence of one image will be. If it's in the middle, the blended image will be pretty equal for both pictures, though the one with the stronger colors and texture will probably dominate over the other.
Image Blender features 18 blending modes. They are: Normal, Multiply, Screen, Overlay, Darken, Lighten, Color Dodge, Color Burn, Soft Light, Hard Light, Difference, Exclusion, Hue, Saturation, Color, Luminosity, Plus Darker, and Plus Lighter.
Each mode has it's own unique appearance, though depending on the images used, some effects may look similar to each other. For those that want a tip for cool ways to use this app, combinations of the original photo with a ToonPaint version will work nicely in this app.
Once you find a result you are happy with, a tap of the Save button will save it to your Camera Roll once it's done "blending." The app also saves images in full resolution, so you don't lose anything in the process of blending.
