Sick Of Doodle Jump? Then Checkout Doodle Bouncing Star
Doodle Bouncing Star ($1.99) by Bluepepper, Inc. is similar to Doodle Jump, which at one time was one of the top paid apps for the iPhone. The two games are incredibly similar, they share similar platforms, physics, and power ups. However, Doodle Bouncing Star has included a few new things, while also removing a few features.
There a point system, which allows you to spend your points on jumps mid-game, or purchase costumes and characters. They have done away with enemies, the only objective is moving upward and not falling. A few of the power ups have changed; in Doodle Jump power ups were available for one time use. In this game they last for a few uses.
The physics feel exactly like Doodle Jump, there's no lag and the controls are very responsive. Another really neat feature this game offers is the ability to take a picture of yourself or draw something and make that your character. The game becomes much more humorous when you have a small picture of your face bouncing around.
The point system is also pretty clever; throughout the game the user flies past gems of different colors. When the gems are collected these turn into points. These points can be spent during the game, by clicking the “jump” button, which will instantly launch you up even if you are falling. This is pretty handy if you are doing really well, fall and would like continue playing. It does cost 30 of your points. Points can also be spent in the shop on costumes and accessories for your character.
Overall Doodle Bouncing Star is not very different from Doodle Jump, they even share a similar title. If Doodle Jump has started to bore you, and you are looking for something with new features, you might want to check out Doodle Bouncing Star.
