Buying An Overpriced iPad 2 Now Easier With Improved EBay for iPad App
March 17, 2011
Ebay, the popular online auction site, has released a new version of its eBay for iPad app. Verizon 1.5 includes much needed features for buyers and sellers. Still, eBay could do better.
The new version is a step ahead for the app, which until this release provided little more than eye candy for would-be buyers. However, this version is closer to what you’d expect an iPad app from eBay to be for both buyers and sellers.
Two essential features for buyers are finally here. First, buyers are now able to browse eBay items by categories. Second, buyers can save searches and search alerts.
The latest update lets sellers mark items as shipped, and provide Best Offer support.
Other features include: an improved My eBay, Item view screen and the ability to see daily deals.
Although much improved, the eBay for iPad app has a long way to go. Even with the changes, you still can't complete your entire buying or selling experience from within the app. Until that time comes, switching back and forth between app and mobile Safari is necessary and that is annoying.
This update follows last week’s update of the eBay Mobile app for the iPhone/iPod touch.
The free eBay for iPad app is available in the App Store today.
