Coolest Jailbreak Hack Ever? Celeste Transforms iOS File Sharing
March 25, 2011
With each iOS update, Apple gets closer to creating the perfect smart phone. Of course, there are still some things that an iPhone cannot do. One of those is the ability to send and receive files using Bluetooth technology. However, thanks to a new jailbreak hack called Celeste, that ability is now a reality.
Created by CocoaNuts, Celeste has been something many in the jailbreak community have been excited about and now it is finally here.
The jailbreak, which is available through Cydia, allows your iPhone/iPod touch or iPad running iOS 4.2 or later to receive files from any mobile phone and any computer (Mac or PC) that supports OBEX Bluetooth file transfers. Files that can be transferred include songs, photos, videos, documents, contacts, and more.
In addition, when you purchase Celeste you will receive a free copy of CocoaNut's popular Gremlin application worth $1.99.
This application really ties everything together, since it allows you to import songs and videos into your iPod library with full iTunes sync capability.
For example, a BlackBerry or Android user could send a song to your iPhone. Once downloaded, that song is immediately added to your iPod library, which can then be synced for use on other iOS devices.
Normally priced at $9.99, Celeste is available for $7.99 for a limited time.
According to the Celeste developer, speaking to iPhone Tweaks:
For the first time ever in the history of the iPhone, with the upcoming release of Gremlin, you will be able to sync downloaded songs and videos back to iTunes! And because Celeste comes with Gremlin for free, that means any songs and videos you receive over Bluetooth will act exactly as if you’d bought them from the iTunes store. We’re really excited about this!Check out this video: If any of our readers download Celeste, please let us know by using the comments below.
