Cut The Rope Making an Impression? Check Out Smoody
Smoody ($0.99) by Federico Kalayjian is a new physics based game that combines elements from many previous titles. Users will find very similar “Cut The Rope” type gameplay. Though the gameplay is similar to other titles, the main concept of the game is original.
Players are helping a new species that has just arrived on earth. You need to help them find all of their friends. This is done by destroying levels and creating a path for the “Smoody” (your character) to the black hole. The black hole is there to transport your Smoody to another location. Actual black holes would, in theory, just send them into oblivion. But, since when do video games ever follow reality?
The game is quite polished, and the developers have paid attention to all the fine details that truly make a great iOS game. There are four chapters and 80 levels; each chapter has its own theme, and unique obstacles. Users will find anything from swinging rocks to magnets standing in their way.
There are quite a few differences from “Cut The Rope.” Smoody users have to cut wood and other objects, not just rope. To make things even more tricky, the angle at which things are cut, especially wood, plays a large role in how the level will unfold.
For example, if a piece of wood that needs to fall in a particular direction is not cut at the right angle, you can be sure that it will not fall where you need it to. Don’t let this deter you from the game as it is easy to master with just a little practice.
Overall, players can expect plenty of challenge and interesting levels in this new title. Though it shares similar concepts and designs with other iOS games, the game boasts lots of originality. For $.99 it’s sure to leave you puzzled, and itching for more, be sure to check this one out.
