Distinctive Is Looking To Bring Mayhem Back Into The Rink With Hockey Nations 2011

March 3, 2011
Distinctive's Hockey Nations 2010 turned out to be a solid first effort, finally bringing a quality hockey sim to our favorite mobile platform. But the prominent UK-based development team didn't want to rest on their laurels; instead, they decided to take all of the feedback they received from the original game and put it to good use, helping shape and mold the latest iteration that's set to hit the App Store this month. Hockey Nations 2011 is all about delivering what fans of the series really wanted in a hockey game, which turned out to be fighting, customizable teams, and multiplayer. This time around you will be able to throw down your gloves and engage in some not-so-friendly one-on-one fist fights. The fighting mechanic appears to be timing-based, and features swipe and touch controls. Often requested by Distinctive's North American fans, Hockey Nations 2011 will allow you to customize teams in order to make them resemble your local favorites. It will also feature a total of 18 international teams, up from the previous total of 14. The final big addition is local multiplayer via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, allowing you to show your friends who truly is the king of the rink. Hockey Nations 2011 will also features a total of seven game modes, realistic motion-captured animations, 3D graphics, and the ability to choose and change your strategy on the fly in order to suit your playing style. Hockey Nations 2011 will be arriving in the App Store sometime this month. As always, we will let you know the moment it is available, and maybe, just maybe, we will throw together another hockey puck giveaway.
