Find Those Nearby With New Yobongo App

The new Yobongo app for the iPhone/iPod touch lets people chat with others nearby, thereby connecting with “real people in real-time.” To do so, users simply have to jump into a nearby conversation, without the need to join a chat room or a ‘follow’ list. Created by Yobongo, Inc., the app is extremely simple to use and for some could become quite addictive.

Want to chat with somebody privately? You can do that too using the app’s private conversations feature. Other features include:

• See photos of people you are chatting with
• Create account with your Facebook login
• Share with friends via SMS and Email

Currently available in San Francisco, New York City, Long Beach, California, and Austin, Texas, Yobongo is expected to launch in other locations in the next few months. Like the recently released Ask Around app, Yobongo's success or failure will largely depend on how many people actually use the service. The free Yobongo app is available in the App Store.
