GDC 11: The Big Wrap-Up
by Staff Writer
March 11, 2011
The Game Developers Conference is really exploding with the growth of mobile gaming. That means there was a lot of work for AppAdvice at the conference. The past two weeks have been exhausting to say the least. Last week I was in San Francisco for three days and met with every iOS game developer I possibly could. I had meetings every half hour from 11-6 and then attended all the after parties.
The next step in the process was writing up all the information to share it with you. This week we had 22 GDC-specific articles covering all kinds of upcoming games. Now it’s our big wrap-up of every single GDC article. The following are links to all our GDC coverage.
Firemint’s Agent Squeek
Remedy’s Death Rally
EA’s Upcoming Line-up
Supermono’s New Game Engine
Crescent Moon Games Gears & Pocket RPG
New Battle Bears
Warner Bros. Tapper World Tour
Real Racing 2 HD for iPad 2
Team Phobic’s Undead Island
Halfbrick's Machine Gun Jetpack
Mega Jump Brining Mega Run
Casey’s Contraptions Physics Puzzle
PopCap’s Upcoming Games
TellTale’s iPad 2 Plans
Little Things Update & Sequel
The Binary Mill’s Mini Motor Racing
Dungeon Defenders Second Wave
Chicken Balls Physics Puzzle
Chillingo’s Upcoming Line-Up
Paw Print Games' Kami Retro
ZombieSmash Free Update
The Award Show Winners
The five games I’m most excited about are:
Death Rally
Agent Squeek
Mini Motor Racing
Storm in a Teacup
Battle Bears Royale
The one downside of GDC was that a number of developers are keeping their upcoming games under embargo. Sadly, we can’t even tell you about some of the best games we saw. We will, however, have an article about them up as soon as we can, so stay tuned.
What a wonderful time GDC was! We hope you enjoyed our GDC coverage as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you. If you have a specific game that you are particularly excited about, let us know in the comments!
