IMDb Update Makes Keeping Track Of And Going To See Movies That Interest You Even Easier

March 23, 2011
The Internet Movie Database, or IMDb for short, have updated their popular and completely free iOS app with new features that make keeping track of and going to see the movies that interest you the most even easier. As the summer blockbuster season nears, it becomes more and more difficult to keep track of which movies you really want to see in theaters. To make things easier for you, IMDb has implemented a Watchlist feature that allows you to create and organize a list of movies -- and TV shows -- that interest you the most. Whenever you discover an interesting movie, just tap on the "Add to Watchlist" button located at the top of the screen. It will be instantly added to your list, which can be accessed and maintained from the launch screen in the iPhone version or from the bottom bar in the iPad version. When it finally comes time to go see one of your Watchlist movies, the latest version of IMDb makes it even easier to find a local theater and purchase tickets. You can now search for theaters based on your current location, and purchase tickets from within the app via Movietickets.com. The ticket purchasing feature is only available in the U.S., UK, Canada, and Spain, however. The latest version of IMDb for iOS also features a new "magical" search that provides you with results as you type, ratings history, entertainment news, and AirPlay support, allowing you to stream trailers to your Apple TV. IMDb v2.1 for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad is now available in the App Store for free.
