The iPad 2: Shipping Estimates For New U.S. Orders Improve

March 24, 2011
Earlier today, we reported initial online orders for the iPad 2 in Australia and New Zealand showed a shipping delay of “2 to 3 weeks.” Now comes word Apple has shortened the estimates for new U.S. orders to “3 to 4 weeks.” This is a modest change, but an important one.  A “4 to 5 weeks” timeframe was listed online for at least the past ten days. The iPad 2, which officially launches March 25 in 25 additional countries, has been a tough find in the U.S., since it debuted nearly two weeks ago. Even a modest improvement on shipping estimates seem to indicate Apple is ramping up production of the second generation iDevice. The iPad 2 will be available very soon in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.
