iPhone And iPad Apps Gone Free: Nag, Dots-N-Bombs, BookLover, And More

Today's AGF list includes a nagging timer app, the classic game of dots and boxes with a twist, an app that will help you keep track of your books, and much more.

iPhone:

Tank Warz ($1.99 -> Free, 17.3 MB): Take turns positioning your tank and firing on your opponents in this artillery-style game. It features two modes, nine battlefields, a variety of upgrade options, and Game Center integration.

Tank Warz is available for free today only (03/04). It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 16 ratings.

Bee Patrol ($.99 -> Free, 14.4 MB): Take control of either the worker bees or the queen bee to create as much honey as you can in three minutes. Bees are controlled by using the tried and true line-drawing mechanic. The game includes three worlds with nine levels each, a variety of power-ups and enemies, and Game Center integration.

Bee Patrol is available for free today only (03/04). It has a 3-star rating with a total of 9 ratings.

LastStandStan ($.99 -> Free, 21.8 MB): Control a rusty old robot named Stan by tapping the screen to shoot in order to defend the Po 'Trubians from the evil Sleevils. The game includes 20 levels in campaign mode, a survival mode, a variety of different weapons and bosses, and Game Center integration.

LastStandStan is available for free today only (03/04). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 57 ratings.

Shake N' Break ($.99 -> Free, 1.6 MB): Simply take a picture or choose one from your library, then shake your device to break the image and put it back together. The game features five difficulty levels and eight themes.

Shake N' Break is available for free until Sunday, March 6th. It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 106 ratings.

Nag : Timer Alarm ($.99 -> Free, 4.4 MB): Allows you to quickly and easily set an alarm time. The six main buttons allow you to change the alarm time in large increments, or you can finely tune the time with the smaller "+" and "-" buttons. If you don't stop the alarm when it goes off, Nag will continue to sound every minute until you interact with it. You can also create multiple alarms, and choose from six different sounds.

Nag : Timer Alarm is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 7 ratings.

BookLover ($1.99 -> Free, 6.2 MB): A helpful little app for the book lovers out there that allows you to keep track of all of the books you own. You can enter a book manually or scan its barcode, and the app will grab a synopsis for it and its cover art. You can then add notes to the entry or share it with friends via Twitter, Facebook, or email.

BookLover is available for free for a limited time. It has a 3-star rating with a total of 12 ratings. Universal:

Dots-n-Bombs ($.99 -> Free, 16.9 MB): Your classic dots and boxes game with an explosive twist. The goal of the game is to create boxes by taking turns drawing lines. If you are the last person to draw a line which completes a box, that box is yours.  However, your opponent can throw bombs, which will remove some lines but cost them a turn. The game features four different modes and two different forms of multiplayer, including pass and play.

Dots-n-Bombs is available for free through the weekend. It has a 3-star rating with a total of 18 ratings. Developers: If you are a developer who would like to get your app included in our “Apps Gone Free” daily lists, here’s our basic set of rules:
  • It must have at least a three-star average rating at the time it goes free.
  • The app must not have been free numerous times (3+) over the last six months.
  • The free version of your app must not include ads.
