Jailbreak Only: Activate Personal Hotspot In iOS 4.3 For Free With TetherMe
March 6, 2011
We've told you all about Personal Hotspot, Apple's new Wi-Fi tethering option included in the upcoming iOS 4.3. It works great and is incredibly convenient. Unfortunately, depending on your carrier, it might come with a monthly fee, unless you get yourself TetherMe.
TetherMe isn't new, and has been allowing folks all around the world to activate USB and Bluetooth tethering without the consent of their carrier. However, with iOS 4.3, which has been recently jailbroken, you'll be glad to know TetherMe can also be used to activate Personal Hotspot.
All you need to do is buy it on Cydia for $.99, and your iPhone will allow you to use the native feature as if you were paying for it. If you consider AT&T and Verizon bill $20/month for the feature, this is a really good deal. Of course, going behind your carrier's back can get you in trouble, so you're doing so at your own risk.
TetherMe can be found on the Cydia Jailbreak store for $.99.
