No Mess For Parents; Toca Tea Party App Is Fun For Kids

March 18, 2011
Teatime has come to the iPad, thanks to the new Toca Tea Party app. Best of all, parents everywhere will rejoice since it means no mess! A midafternoon meal of tea and sandwiches or cakes is still popular in the UK. However, teatime in the U.S. and in other countries is largely confined to fancy hotels, or to little girls playing it as a game on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Toca Tea Party brings the tradition of teatime to the iPad, but without the need to clean up afterwards. Plus, you can play together with your kids in a way that stimulates their imagination. Children set the table, choose their favorite cookies and cakes, and then serve the tea (or juice) to their invited guests. Eating and drinking is as easy as swiping your finger. Don’t worry about spills: If one of the guests makes a mess, there are plenty of napkins to clean it up! In total, there are nine different types of cakes and cookies to choose from, as well as different tableware, making each party unique. Is the app worth it? My daughter, aged 4, thought so. She loved it from the moment it was downloaded, and picked up its dynamics immediately; and I can't say that about all the games I've downloaded for her. I would definitely recommend this game for anyone with a child between three and five years old, and maybe older. Toca Tea Party is available for the iPad for $2.99 in the App Store.
