Popular Photo App Diptic Gets An Update - Plus Win A Promo Code!

March 15, 2011
Diptic has recently come out with a fabulous new update that allows you to utilize photos directly from your Facebook or Flickr accounts. If you’re not familiar with this popular photographer’s app, check out our previous review. Basically, Diptic allows you to easily create a photographic story - combine two, three, or four photos into a single frame. Soon after our review, Peak Systems updated Diptic (as I suggested) to allow you to change the shape of your diptics to rectangles proportioned from 1:2 all the way to 2:1, with a slider to allow every proportion in between. This option, available for purchase in-app, gives you a lot more flexibility. That last update also brought optional hi-res saving. And now, the responsive developers of Diptic have come out with another update. Before today, you could create your diptics with photos from your camera roll or taken in-app. With this newest update, you can now use photos from your Facebook or Flickr accounts as well. This saves you the step of having to put each of your “real camera” photos onto your iPhone or iPod touch before putting them in Diptic. After creating a Diptic, you can post directly to Facebook, Flickr, or Posterous. Diptic is an app with a dedicated following. You can check out their Flickr group to get an idea. If you’re in Instagram fan, you’ll definitely want to check out #diptic there to see what devoted Diptic fans do there. There are even more specific Diptic hashtags, like #dipticodelic for photographers creating psychedelic art with Diptic. It’s a fun and useful app for every iPhoneographer. We've partnered with Peak Systems to offer promo codes to five lucky winners. If you’d like to win a copy, simply comment below. Contest ends March 16 at 1:00 EDT. Good luck![gallery link="file"]
