myBanquet ($2.99) by upiksoft can help you plan an event such as a wedding, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, charity function, gala dinner, sports banquet, reunion, or just a big party. If you’ve read our recent AppList entitled “iPad Apps To Plan Events”, then you’ll probably be interested in the app myBanquet.
This is really a fantastic app to help you lay everything out. First of all, it helps you organize your guest list. You can type each guest into the app directly, or you can import contacts from Facebook. Alternatively, you can import your contacts via a spreadsheet. Keep track of RSVPs right in the app, and even sync them to Facebook.
Once you’ve got your guest list figured out, you can create seating arrangements. Choose from three different templates to start, but you can personalize them however you like. Choose the number of tables, table size, number seated, and table shape. Manipulate tables with your fingers to place them in the right spots. Add your guests to each table and you’ve got your seating arrangement. You can even add other objects in the room, such as a swimming pool, dance floor, bar, stage, buffet table, tree, or DJ area. Every item can be moved, rotated, cloned, and have notes added to it.
Not that this helps your planning, but it’s fun: change the background to more closely resemble the space in which you’re working or just your imagination. Give it hardwood floors or make it bright purple if you wish. You get a dozen background choices.
If you’re planning an event with other people (who also have iPads and this app), you can share information from the app between you with the myBanquet Export File. If you own an event-planning company, this could really come in handy. You can also easily email information with others that don’t have the app or an iPad. Instantly create and send reports to anyone via email right from the app: Invitee List, Table List, Not Seated, Unconfirmed List, Confirmed List, Layout plan, and Statistics.
In case you plan similar events year after year (for example, a yearly charity gala dinner), you can save the banquet templates and guest lists and re-use them as needed.
