First Reported Sighting Of An iPad 2 Buyer Pitching A Tent To Buy The iDevice
March 7, 2011
Four days before the release of the iPad 2, at least one enterprising buyer is already in line to buy the iDevice. Overkill or not, this is probably the first of many such sightings coming over the next few days.
According to Maccast, which first reported this news, the would-be buyer is most likely Justin Wagoner, who received a lot of press for being in line days before the iPhone 4 was released.
Wagoner’s tent is located next to the Knox Street Apple Store in Dallas, Texas. Because of renovations, the store is temporarily located at 4525 McKinney Avenue.
Unlike the original iPad launch, Apple is not allowing pre-orders online this time around. Therefore, the first iPad 2 buyers will need to visit a U.S. retailer to purchase the iDevice.
However, a four-day wait is probably not necessary.
The iPad 2 will be available at U.S. retailers, and online beginning Friday, March 11. The product launches in Canada, and parts of Europe on March 25.
