Smart Covers Too Ordinary? Design Your Own iPad Case
March 17, 2011
While Apple’s new Smart Cover line is indeed magical, it isn’t the only case option available for the iPad 2. Accessories manufacturer M-Edge recently released its own web app that lets users design their own customized iDevice jackets using their own high-resolution photographs or artwork.
The MyEdge concept, which was revealed at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, allows users to create a personalized jacket for the iPad 1, iPad 2, Kindle, or Nook. Once ordered, it arrives within 10-14 business days.
In addition to adding a photograph or artwork, the case can be further customized by adding a pattern or color. You can also include text and trim color.
Finally, you can choose between a chestnut or black leather spine.
All cases are 100 percent cotton canvas, with a light brown, “microsuede” interior.
Once completed, you can order the case or add it to the MyEdge Style Library for others to see and buy themselves.
Each iPad case is available for $50, plus shipping and handling. Kindle and Nook jackets are priced at $40 each.
