A lot of attention went into the interface. Each page has hints revealing how to interact with the features, and navigation is easy if a tad sluggish. There is even thumbnail navigation, ideal when you have a child who wants to see page 19 over and over again.
The price tag may seem a bit high, but when you see how beautiful and content rich The Penelope Rose HD is, you won’t regret the investment. It’s still a fraction of the cost of a comparable bookstore offering.

The only downside I found was the load time for each page is on the long side, and page turning was not as smooth as I would like.
The lag did start to bother me, but my two nieces (aged four and seven) were oblivious; they were too absorbed in hunting for hidden pixies and painting roses to care.
