AT&T's Latest Financials Suggest Verizon's iPhone Deal Meant Very Little
April 20, 2011
One might have expected Verizon’s ability to sell the iPhone 4 might have knocked AT&T off course. However, according to the company’s first quarter financials, that didn’t happen.
In the period between January 1-March 31, 2011, AT&T recorded 1 million new iPhone activations year-over-year to 3.6 million. In total, 5.5 million new smart phones were sold during the quarter, for a total of 97.5 million.
This helped AT&T account for $31.2 billion in revenues, which is 2.3 percent higher than the same quarter last year.
