The closing message of the book is “to give back to the earth as much as they took.” This message is consistent with other Earth Day and living green celebrations.
Once I started the story, there was no way to go back to the beginning without paging through the entire book. However, you can scroll back through the pages, just in case you missed something. Earth Day Pig-Out is not interactive like other children’s books in the app store and it is fairly short. If you let the story run automatically, it will take just over two minutes.
This is a very simple story that rhymes and the illustrations are colorful. The text is on one half of the screen with a white background, and the picture is on the other half. Each word is highlighted in yellow as the story is read, which makes it easy for children follow along. The pages turn automatically and the book will pause and play, by simply tapping the screen.
