ConvertX - Units & Currency Converter ($0.99) by Mallow Technologies Private Limited is a powerful universal conversion tool, capable of converting practically any measurement or value. This may be hard to believe, but with 684 units in 44 categories, this app has its bases covered. You’ll find anything from “Computer – Data Transfer Speed” to “Angular Velocity” and of course, all of the common stuff in between. To make things even simpler, the developer was clever enough to throw a built in calculator as well as a couple other features.
The app is very simple; there is a tool bar at the bottom that switches between five window views. Amongst those five buttons, users will find the Converter, a Calculator, Search bar, Settings, and Help & Info, which is all very standard and expected of an app like this. However, what really makes this particular utility app stand out is its functionality.
The converter window is setup with two columns, and each column can be scrolled up and down to select a unit. Once a unit is selected, the lower half of the screen will display a keyboard that will allow users to input data. The data will automatically be converted to whatever unit is selected on the right side.
Within the settings, multiple unit types can be turned on or off. When converting a particular unit to another, the current settings can be saved as a favorite for use later on. So if a situation requires a particular conversion very often, users can have them already set up under their favorites.
To really make the app complete, if it lacks a unit, the developers have promised to add more units if they are requested enough. Overall, ConvertX is one of the most convenient and useful conversion apps I’ve seen out there, and for $.99, this is a must have.
